El Fuego

March 23, 2007 by anado 1 Comment

Well we nipped a fire in the bud today down at the chapel sight. It is the dry season here in our area. Carlos and Miguelito had done some clearing yesterday. They burned some old grasses and branches in a ravine below the sight. Afterwards they put water on it. But not enough it seems. Later in the day they covered it with debris that was both dry grasses and soil (for composting). Today Miguelito saw lots of smoke down there and we almost had a big problem. We covered the whole area with water and we saved the lower ravine, which is very wooded, from any damage. Gracias, Miguelito!!!!!!
