…or better yet: my better three quarters is most divine. He will soon be joined by me in San Francisco. It is time that we re-connect…I need some Richardizing and I would think he could use some Anado too. All the animals here, including me, await his return in early June. In the meantime, we go about our day to day in appreciation of our quiet friend. Peace be on Richard: my Beloved Friend.

I’m Not Bob Dylan
And now that we have that clear…I am also not Cate Blanchett. However, dear Cate did a remarkable job in the role of Bob Dylan in the film "I’m Not There". But we have established the fact that I am here in the last posting, even though I am always wanting to be there…even if there is no there: there. So I guess that I am not there after all. So the big question is: Is here ever there? Well, in terms of the past…here will one day be there. But does the past really exist? Or is the past a shared phenomena that we all agree on, even if some of us embellish our pasts..are all pasts part of one big Past? Or is the past just part of the illusion that some of us call our present or our "here"…I’m just checking..just an excuse, I guess to connect…but by the time you read this, this posting will be in my past but in your present…Is life confusing sometimes?
Here I Am
So here I am, back home to our house full of dogs and cats. It is full on for the next nine days, until I head up North to SF. I am looking forward to being with Richard again and having some major good food on Clement Street (Java, Burma Superstar). Speaking of superstars, while in Mexico City, I saw the movie Factory Girl about poor little Edie Sedgwick of Warhol fame. I am major lucky that my mid-western un-coolness spared me the destruction that embedded that crew. That whole scene appeared so glamorous back then, especially for a wannabe the likes of me. But I was spared…I had dog, cat, and burro duty awaiting me in Mexico, but first I had to go to India so that I could learn that "Darshan is every moment…"…outside the window the birds are heralding their existance…Oh Happy Day!
Golden Light on Dark Streets
Well i arrived in Mexico City in one piece…a bit tired but ready for
an adventure. My friend Mark the photographer arranged for a young man
named Hector (Polish Jewish Mexican) to take me around and to find out
the tee shirt scene. He helped me immensely… i will come back later
in May for the production. Whew! Hector is a hip young contemporary
artist. He liked my funky design and that made me feel good. Anyhow,
just got here to the internet place after a kinda weird walk through
some REALLY dark streets. i had dinner alone in La Condessa. i was
just surrounding myself with Golden Light as i walked rather briskly.
So dear friends, Anado is happy and grooving. Tomorrow i will be going
to the Laganilla outdoor antique maket…that is always fun…Love to
all from Mexico City
Walls and All
Here are some photos of the walls as they exist as of 7am on Friday, May 2. This is all quite divine…what isn’t? Simba, the King of all our animals can be see in one of the photos. Here on our lil’ Island of Groove, Simba rules! By the way, Jimmy Ray is passing on new info about the actual construction of the Chapel…stay tuned for it’s evolution…"Talk about a Evolu-u-shun…we-ell you know…
" (The quotes should be read in a John Lennon voice).
Next…….
So I have kinda finished the design for this tee shirt gig about Tom Robbins coming to San Miguel. I am taking the finished product to Mexico City on Saturday morning to see about production…this should be a challenge and an adventure. The guys are down at the Chapel creating the bottle encrusted walls…this is very outrageous…I will hopefully have some photos next week. The roof has been totally tiled and grouted…My next project here is percolating…I may need to put a fire under my idea burner and let inspiration have it’s due and then I will dive into the whoop-de-do of it all and follow the listening…it will happen…is this posting
vague enough for you? Am I succeeding in masking my verbal smokescreen enough to hide the fact that I feel a bit empty of ideas? I must put that inner editor on vacation…I am listening way too much to garbageous thoughts…I just made up that word: garbageous or is it spelled garbagous? My o my…I do know that I have gessoed the panel three times and possibly I have come to the door…now, Anado, just turn the knob…open open open
