It has been an exceptionally busy and odd day. I have been working on this furniture piece for some friendly couple who live here part time. I got the real run around from the carpenter who made the piece before I embellished it….I had to practically camp out in front of his shop to get him to finish it. He gave me a below par piece of furniture which we had to revive. Quite frankly, it is lovely. However, it did not meet the expectations of the man part of the before mentioned couple….he still wants us to deliver it…he will see if he can learn to accept it….after they left the studio on Saturday, a group from Atlanta was out here and they all went hysterical when they saw it…they loved it….Somehow, I wish this fellow, could let down his guard and find appreciation. Everyone is entitled to their opinion…so I respect his….so I send relax
ing light their way…we deliver tomorrow. As for me…I am looking forward to our trip to the beach on Thursday…I need some funky down time..ahhhhhhhh

Easterical
Last Sunday Sheridan San Segundo and myself judged the Easter Bonnet Contest out at Patsy’s Place…It was a good gig because I donated a necklace for the winner…also Richard and I got a free meal. I just wanted to share this photo with you. Sudheer said I have the Lili Pulitzer thing going…I tend to lean more to "The Old Man and the Sea’…in this case the "Old Man Stranded in the High Desert Surrounded by Rich Gringos". But you see, Dear Folks, I am not stranded…I am tripping the Light Fantastic in a Fandango State of Mind…Love to all…also, Lolita, I took the photo from the previous post using the Photo Booth Program on my Mac…we were being very Left Bank……..
When I awaken…
…I will remember everything. In the meantime, it seems that part of my life has become show and tell. Because the Chapel will one day serve as our Gallery…there will be less people tramping through the house. These small tours are an ongoing thing and it still blows my mind. A young very hip photographer named Mark Powell came out here yesterday to photograph us. I really dig his work. He took some great portrait shots of Richard and I that he is going to include in a show in Paris next year. We get a copy of the photo. When the Chapel is finished, Jimmy Ray wants to give him a show to hang. So…work…work…work…getting it done…moving through the Groove….Ah This!
Those Who Help My Beingness
The above title is in reference to Lolita’s comment using a Rumi quote: "Be with those who help your Being". Thanks so much to Existance for my delightful bevy of friends. Included is a photo taken last year of Jimmy Ray and all of us…having a good old time…it was about this time last year. I have never laughed so hard in my life. Speaking of Laughter, Jennifer Grais (who is pictured here on her horse Solo) has the most exquisite laugh in all of San Miguel. She is a delight. She and her husband Michael are new friends and we love hanging around with them. As I heard once in the film "Children of Paradise", "the world is a small place for those who love"….Love to all!!!
That Social Scene Statement
I need to clarify what I meant about a certain "social scene". I went to a party recently and for some reason…I felt so out of place…the majority of the people there were unknown to me and I felt like I was at some Country Club in Texas or Tennessee or Who knows where. I found myself surrounded by all the reasons that I choose not to live in the United States…It seems all those reasons will always follow me around till I get the clue: Don’t let it bother me….So my choice is this…I am going where I feel comfortable and if I am in a social situation where I feel discomfort…I will comfortably disassociate myself from the situation and move on…back to the Groove…"easy is right"! That’s what the guy said (he said many things)…that will always mean a
lot to me.
Not So Old Not So In The Way
Life does start after 50…an example being these two happy men living a good, creative, colorful, and brilliantly sunny life outside of the American Ghetto now known as San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We still are able to experience the feeling of Latin America out here at Casa las Ranas. May it remain so…may All Beings be able to explore their True Nature….may those of us whom meet in the heart feel the enrichment of soul pollination…may those whom we meet superficially ….agree that it is ok…and move on. Yesterday, I decided to do some more interior house cleaning….I am grateful for my friends, and the bounty
of these friendships is so important….the tired social scene no longer attracts me…such is Life.
